Spaghetti and meatballs is my family's favorite meal. Their mouths water as the scent of garlic and basil fill the air. They leave dinner full and happy.

This meal is always a crowd pleaser, whether you are serving it for a party or just your family. I make the sauce in the morning and let it simmer all afternoon. I make the meatballs ahead of time and allow the seasonings to meld together. One of the best things about making sauce ahead of time is once it's done, it's done. The only left thing to do for dinner is making the pasta. This is what you will need.

Ingredients needed:

2 cans tomato sauce

2 lbs ground meat

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp olive oil

3 tbsp Basil

3 tbsp oregano

salt and pepper

2 eggs

1 cup bread crumbs

1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

1 lb box angel hair or spaghetti

1) First thing you need to do is make the sauce. Begin by browning the meat. Heat a saute pan and use 1 lb of the ground meat with 2 cloves of garlic. Use a garlic press to mince the garlic clove. While the meat is browning, open up the cans of sauce and pour into a big sauce pot. Add a drizzle of olive oil, 2 tbsp basil, 2 tbsp oregano, salt and pepper. When the meat is done, drain and add to the sauce. Stir and put on low heat. Simmer throughout the day, stirring occasionally.

2) The next step is to make the meatballs. Combine the remaining pound of ground meat, garlic, remaining spices, bread crumbs, eggs and parmesan cheese into a large mixing bowl. Mix well. Using your hands, take some meat and start rolling them into one inch balls. Place each meatball in a greased baking dish. When all of the meatballs have been rolled, cover and place in the fridge until ready to bake.

3) Bake the meatballs for 45 minutes to 1 hour at 350. I like to bake them one hour before I need dinner done. When the meatballs are cooked, add them to your sauce.

4) While the meatballs are cooking, start your water for the pasta. Fill a pot, add salt and 1 tsp olive oil. This will help the pasta from sticking together. My family likes angel hair, but regular spaghetti works too. It's whatever your preference is. Cook the pasta until it is al dente, firm, but not mushy.

5) When pasta is done, you are ready to serve. Place some pasta on a plate and pour your sauce over it. Sprinkle parmesan cheese on top. This meal goes great with a Caesar or garden salad and bread. Enjoy!
